Halloween reminds me of my favorite scary monster: the vampire. I will admit vampire shows/movies are a guilty pleasure of mine and I dressed up last year as one. I saw this image off facebook and think it is absolutely beautiful. The only credit I could find to this was the caption “Photomovement”. . . most likely the name of a place in los angeles.
I am so in love with Beyonce right now. The song I Was Here off her new album has been my theme song these last two weeks. I feel so inspired.
It seems the US has become obsessed with feather hair extensions (they even offer dog feather extensions!). I will admit I have some as well! My housemate, Elizabeth Lague, is a talented hairstylist working with top companies like Victoria’s Secret and Lacoste. She told be about the new trend and since I love feathers I thought why not!! A few weeks later we decided to share a booth at the flea market. I sold my earrings and she put in extensions. What a feathery success! There were women of all ages getting extensions.
A few women who bought from both of us were concerned about too many feathers if they had hair extensions AND my feather earrings. Here are some tips I shared with them:
1. Place the extensions slightly under the hair so u can choose to hide them or show them off.
2. Get the natural looking feathers. My jewelry is colorful and I find that the natural feathers I have in my hair don’t c0mpete with the colorful jewelry.
3. Match! If you have purple feathers in your hair right now then wear something like my Indigo earring! Just be careful to not overload.
4. Pull your hair back. I actually do this a lot anyway. I love styling my hair and makeup t0 complement (not compete) with my jewelry.
I’m in France right now and it seems the craze hasn’t hit hard yet over here so now is your chance my european loves to start it! They are even pretty easy to put in yourself with a little research.
Finally! My website is complete! I have been waiting for this day for a long time. I have spent some time on Etsy and selling merchandise throughout my vagabond travels but now it is time to settle and find my place in this big bad world of fashion!
